My Contribution
I led the development of Avenue’s pre-screening feature, designing questions that
reveal candidates’ personalities and cultural fit to help employers make informed
decisions. Beyond this, I played a key role in translating user research into
actionable design improvements, ensuring the product delivered a seamless and
engaging hiring experience.

Adding Efficiency Throughout the Hiring Process
One of the main pain points was how time consuming the process of hiring is.
Creating a website that has a streamlined UI and utilizes AI tools to automate
processes for hiring managers.
Improved Candidate Insights Before Interviews
Hiring managers often struggle to assess candidates fully until the interview,
which is time-consuming. The goal is to provide detailed candidate information
upfront to streamline the hiring process.

The "ave" logo and overall design embody Avenue's clean, minimalist aesthetic, reflecting
simplicity and clarity. The interconnected pathways in the logo symbolize seamless
connections, while the modern look reinforces a fresh, efficient approach to hiring as we
noticed most recruiting platforms looked very sterile and corporate.

User Testing
User testing provided critical insights, as we revisited our original interviewees to refine
the design. While feedback highlighted areas for improvement, one participant appreciated
the direction enough to express interest in collaborating further.

Simplified by removing closed pinned posts and linking compatible candidates to active ones.

Final revisions focused on improving functionality and clarity, including adding a back button for
easier navigation and updating icons, button placement, and hierarchy for consistency.

Final revisions improved efficiency with highlighted keywords for quicker profile scanning and replacing
the "With/Without" toggle with clear "Include/Exclude" buttons near the search bar for better usability.
FINAL DESIGN

This feature enhances the hiring process by allowing employers to quickly filter
candidates based on specific keywords, enabling bulk actions such as
categorizing or declining candidates. It increases efficiency while ensuring only
the most suitable candidates are prioritized.

Candidate Compatibility System
This feature evaluates how closely a candidate’s profile matches the job description
posted by the employer, focusing on criteria like experience and skills. It streamlines
the hiring process by helping employers quickly identify the most compatible candidates.
Pre-Screening Questionnaire
It allows employers to better understand candidates before interviews, ensuring a more
informed hiring process and reducing time spent on unsuitable candidates.
Next Step / Takeaway
This project gave me the invaluable opportunity to conduct interviews and user testing with
actual employers. Engaging directly with them not only validated our design choices but also
highlighted areas for improvement. Through this process, I learned the value of iterative feedback.
Moving forward, we aim to prototype additional features, such as employer sign-up, streamlined
contact flows (e.g., Calendly integration), and an analytics page to improve job posting visibility.
We also plan to develop the applicant side of the site to enhance the candidate-employer dynamic.
